Luxury Hotels in Wellington is currently seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join their prestigious establishment. As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained throughout the hotel.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department.
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of the housekeeping staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Train and mentor housekeeping staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties to the highest standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, compliance with hotel standards, and prompt resolution of any issues.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring an adequate supply at all times.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with scheduling and rostering of housekeeping staff to ensure proper coverage and efficient use of resources.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor and control housekeeping expenses within budgetary guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to housekeeping operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in a housekeeping management role.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to speak and understand English fluently.
